Meadowview Baptist Church + The Hunter Henry Center | Starkville, MS Wedding | Taylor + Montana

Mississippi

Dear Taylor + Montana,

Your wedding day had the type of loveliness a day can only have when surrounded by one’s dearest friends and loved ones. It was a beautiful celebration, a joining of souls that touched all who participated deeply.  Taylor, you were nothing short of radiant as you made your way down the aisle to Montana. And Montana, as you pledged you life to Taylor, your eyes shone with love, pride, and joy.

Thank you so much for allowing me to document your day, and the very beginning of your life together.  I wish you nothing but the best.

Cheers,

Nikki

Tori + Jon,

I am finding the words I have to describe your wedding to be so completely inadequate. Your celebration was so overwhelmed by love and adoration that even without a beautiful church, stunning clothes, and magnificent flowers, the day still would have been beautiful. What made it beautiful was the way family members came from all over, and how friends gathered from here and there, and spread jubilation to all. Thank you, thank you, thank you for letting me a part of it.

Cheers to you,

Nikki

It was just us. There was some nostalgia along with since we were returning to the place that was our first real vacation when we were dating, as well as our first trip as couple. We ate at our favorite restaurants both nights, slept late, and sat in the sand. It was exactly the getaway we needed. (more…)

Navigating The Ins & Outs of Family Photos

real-wedding

As a photographer, I’ve interacted with hundreds of family members. Some family members are thrilled to be at the wedding and want to do everything than can to help, some are resentful because they aren’t getting married, and still others are kinda “yeah, I’m hear….someone pass me a beer….” Navigating all of the dynamics can be overwhelming to the point where some brides want to skip the family photos all together. And to to be honest, I get it. However, taking family photo is SO important, especially at weddings. The day is not only about the bride and groom becoming one and starting a new union, but also about the blending of families. My goal as a photographer is do everything I can to help eliminate the stress and tension that can arise on a wedding day, particularly with family photos. I’ve found that by sharing these few tips (and brides implementing them!), the day can be much better for everyone.

Smith Lake

The routine was a simple one; breakfast, a lathering of sun screen, then to the boat which would take us to the rocks. We climbed, jumped, and swam, lounged on the boat when a break was needed, and returned to the deep when we became too hot. There were stayed until the sun started to sink. Afterwards a flurry of showers and dinner preparations ensued, and then to bed the littles went. This sequence was repeated again, and again.  And it was during this time, as the sun soaked through our skins and into our souls that the beauty could be embraced. The beauty of laughter and learning, of failing and trying again; the beauty of courage and adventure.

Mississippi

Katherine + Justin,

I cannot thank you enough for letting me be a part of your wedding. It was such a beautiful event and an honor to witness. Everything about it was wonderful; the simplicity of ceremony, the love the shone from the faces of those in attendance, and the delight the two of you took in becoming husband and wife.

I wish you two nothing but the best!
