Family Mini Session | Flowood Nature Park | The Penny Family

family

Dear Mandy,

Thank you so letting me photograph you. I know it’s no small task to meet with a photographer right around dinner time in the middle of the week. Your boys are smart and fun, and watching Charlie and Robert interact with John David was so endearing.

I hope your summer is off to a wonderful start!

Cheers to you all,

Engagement Session | Columbus Riverwalk | Savannah + Marq

engagement

Dear Savannah + Mark,

I don’t think our time  during your engagement session could have gone any better. The sunlight encompassed the two of you as you laughed and loved in one anther’s arms. We talked of movies, both good and not so good ones, and favorite foods. You told me how you were planning a graduation party, and of your two beloved dogs. Our time together made me even more excited for your wedding day.  I know it will be a wonderful celebration.

Until then,

Nikki

Senior Session | The Cotton District | Lawson Joy

Mississippi

Dear Lawson Joy,

First off,  congratulations are in order. You have wrapped up your final year of high school and have done so with such grace. During our time together, your mama couldn’t help but brag about the talent you possess on the field. She, and your dad, are so proud of you.  As you transition into the new phase of life, I truly wish you all the best. It’s exciting, a little nerve-wracking, and going to be so full of adventure.

You’re going to do wonderfully, and I wish you nothing but the best.

Cheers to you,

Nikki

Mississippi State University | Engagement Session | Taylor + Adam

engagement

Dear Taylor + Adam,

When I think back on your engagement session, what comes to mind is laughter. What could have been a stressful end to a long day was instead a time of joy, despite dark clouds.  Thank you for trusting me so implicitly. I appreciate more than I can express. The season you are in right now is such a crazy one: your time is split between two cities, new jobs, friends getting married, and your own wedding. My hope is that when you look back on these photos, it reminds you also of the sweetness of this time as well, even among the crazy.

Until July,

Nikki

Family Session | Mississippi State University | The Foxx Family

family

Dear Kristen and Bryce, Audryna and AJ,

You guys are amazing. Kristen, the discipline that was demanded of you to reach graduation with such a prestigious degree while raising three smart, beautiful children is breathtaking. Bryce, Audryna, and AJ, this period of celebration is just as much for you guys as it is for your mom. Clearly your love, delight, and support of her has championed her through this time. Thank you so much for allowing me to document such a joyful end to an incredible endeavor. Wonderful things are headed your way, of that I am sure.

Cheers to you all,

Nikki

Bryanna + Brandon | Macon, Mississippi Wedding

Mississippi

Dear Bryanna + Brandon,

Your wedding is one that I will never forget. Even though the church was crowded as the two of you pledged your lives to one another, the atmosphere was that of close family gathering. Bryanna, you were radiating as you walked down the aisle to see Brandon for the first time. And your mom said over and over again that she wouldn’t have been able to give you away to anyone else except Brandon.

I hope your first few weeks of husband and wife together have been blissful.

Cheers to you,

Nikki

Jiggetts Home Engagement Session | Canton, MS | Grace + Thomas

Mississippi

Dear Grace + Thomas,

From the first phone, I was excited to work with the two of you. Everything from your story, to how you two interact with each other, to where you are getting married is a source of delight for me. Grace, that fact that you had decided to not get married makes Thomas’ persistence all the more impressive. And his respect for you is evident. It seems pretty clear that he knew you were the one for him early on. However, out of his love and devotion to you, he waited a year and a day to ask you to be his wife, as you had requested.  Simply put, you two are marvelous together. I hope these last few months of your engagement is a sweet time, and that these photos bless you, both now and in the years to come.

Thank you so much for allowing me to be your photographer! I cannot wait for June.

Until then,

Nikki

Maternity Session | Starkville, MS | Alexis

maternity

Dear Alexis,

You are amazing. Thank you, thank you, thank you for trusting me to take your maternity photos. You are are so brave, so bold, and so incredibly beautiful. I know you are nervous about having a little girl, that you’re scared when it comes to being her role model. To that I say that if she grows up to be half the woman you are, you will have done a phenomenal job.

Much love to you!

Nikki

Introducing #printsbyniks

personal

I don’t really know how to start this post so I’m just going to start it.

I have opened an etsy shop.

It was born out of a love for beauty, and an ache for those who are suffering. So often, too often, the headlines that fill our newsfeed is about death: death of a loved one, death of a home, a family, a hope. This world is broken and in desperate need of redemption. But, this world is also so beautiful, and there are sights that speak of someone who is greater, who will come to heal and restore. My hope and prayer is that through His beauty they may be redeemed.

Top 15 Travel

Alabama

I was recently asked if I could have an unlimited budget for one area of my life, what would it be. Without a second thought, I said travel.  And, seeing that I’m in the Northwest this week, I figured it would be a good time to recap my favorite travels from the last year. There was a quick trip to the beach, and multiple trips to see family.  One of the greatest blessings of working from home is that I can literary work anywhere (provided there is wifi), and scheduling a week out of town isn’t a big deal.
