Episcopal Church + Hewlett Barn | Starkville, MS Wedding | Claire + Michael
Mississippi , July 20, 2016
Dear Claire + Michael,
I knew that your day would be a wonderful, beautiful celebration. I knew that there would be happy tears and lots of laughter, that everyone would be so excited for you, and that months of anticipation and planning would finally all come to fruition. What I didn’t know was how lucky I was to be your photographer. The two of you are so full of grace. Claire, the way you gave me total control over the photos, where they were shot, how long they took, everything! You complied with my every request and working with a bride who so trusted my judgment was and is such a gift. Michael, the way you thanked me for how the groomsmen photos were handled was so humbling because the reality was that I should have been thanking you. You all listened, were ready when I needed you, where I need you to be, and didn’t complain once about the heat! The two of you are extraordinary people and that couldn’t have been made more plain to me throughout the day. From the work you do in your professional lives, to the vibrant, selfless, way you love others, the two of you are incredible together and I cannot wait to see all the you accomplish. I wish you both nothing but the best.
Cheers to you!
Claire + Michael got married at the church she grew up in, The Episcopalian Church of the Resurrection. It is an older, absolutely beautiful church with a lot of diferent places to photograph, making it wonderful for a wedding.
A clean, white back drop is perfect for any and every photo. Particularly when the details are simple, clean and minimal. Also, Claire made her garter….. Isn’t it fabulous?
Claire and her mom have the sweetest of relationships. And I’m pretty sure that her mom beating breast cancer within the last year made it even sweeter.
And time for the first look. 🙂
Oh Claire, you are gorgeous!
An amazing couple makes for an amazing bridal party. Always.
The church has rules against photographing through the ceremony, which is a bit of bummer. But, I absolutely love this photo of Claire + her dad making their entrance.
And they are MARRIED!
And another favorite is the one above because how can you not love a cathedral veil.
Quick side note about the weather: it had be sunny and beautiful all day but for a quick moment, it seemed like there was going to be a major down poor.
Since Michael is from New Orleans, there had to be a reference to Mardi Gras and it was rather perfect. 🙂
Claire + Michael, thank you so much for allowing me to document your wedding. I so enjoyed it, and I hope the photos are some you cherish forever!
